Review ignored words in spell check?

Is there any way to review which words have been selected to be ignored by the spell check, and in particular is there any way to change one's mind by deleting words from the ignore list? (Apart from quitting the editor and deleting the entire list of ignores, of course.)

Ignore is per session only. Restart the editor and it will forget all your ignored words. If you want a permanent ignored list, use the user dictionaries.

Yes, I realise this. I typically ignore people's names and so on as I look through a book so that a final spell check is more manageable. What I did the other day was to ignore a name that was close enough to a real word that I found it later in a context where it was actually a typo for the real word. I would have liked to un-ignore it and check it later without quitting the editor and losing all the other words that I should really ignore. I did an immediate search-and-replace to recover, but it made me wonder if this might be a useful feature to have...

On a related (but separate) topic: another mistake I made recently was to right-click on a word and select "add to dictionary" instead of "ignore" (i.e. I moved the mouse one item too far down the context menu when I clicked). How can I undo it when something that that happens (i.e. remove it from the dictionary)?

MY $0.02 -- you should be creating per-book User Dictionaries for ignoring peoples' names and stuff.

Not sure why you say this? If I do this, I will just need to discard the dictionary when I finish editing... it's not like I'm going to edit the same book multiple times... I typically edit each book in a single session.

For the sake of order, I guess.
It wold solve your current problem -- accountability.

And -- do you never edit multiple books from a series? Do you really NEVER go back and re-edit something?

eschwartz has a very good point. -> Series.
They tend to use the same (made-up?) words.

Come on now, how hard is it to manage multiple dictionaries.

When you need it, you go to Preferences, and add the tick 'Mark This Dictionary as Active'
When you are really-really done with it, click the delete Dictionary button.

Drive Space that limited?
My W95c machine had more RAM than my first AT-clone had drive space. I currently have 2 OS and more free-space than the entire computer room I worked in, in the 80's, had RP05 disk packs, available

This was an interesting and instructive thread. I started building a dictionary for a series that has a lot of repetitive words to be added

Q: when adding words to a User Dictionary is there any way to just add the 'base' word and not have to add "s" plurals and "'s" possessives?

Or a spell check option to skip them?

No, that's a limitation of how hunspell works. User dictionaries dont support affixes, they are just simple word lists.
