Link to stylesheet not working
Hi, I did a test conversion about six months ago and things went pretty smoothly (with help from you here!)
Now that my project is ready to go in final form, I am having a few difficulties (aside from remembering all the steps from round 1). I copied my last working stylesheet into a blank one, and went about linking it to my chapters, but it isn't coding in. Sigil spins for a second, but nothing is written in at the top of the chapter after <title> like the first project I completed. No clue what I have done, or forgotten to do? The stylesheet is the same text exactly as the last one which did link fine. Could it be my html (from Word) has something in it that is rejecting the linking? All the top content appears the same in both? Any ideas what to try? Thanks |

Okay, going back to review my working file, all my chapter files are .xhtml and the new one I am compiling are all .htm? Is this where things are going astray?

I doubt it. But rename them to .xhtml and see.

Is the stylesheet appearing under Styles?
Did you selct the book files: Right-click-Link Stylesheets: AND TICK the shee names you want to use with those html files Note I use 8.7 on Windows, the latest (901) gave me fits YMMV |

Yes, it is in the Styles folder. And yes... I'm an idiot! I wasn't checking the box, since there was only one style sheet in the folder. I was just hitting okay. Reading your response I was like... wait...
So, many thanks, the ducks! I'm back in business...yeah, expect another plea for help tomorrow! Now, about .xhtml... and Epub3? Should I convert them all, as I read that may be a smart thing going forward? |

The file's extension in unimportant in the grand scheme of things. It's just a name. Having an xhtml extension does not make it an xhtml file. Its contents make it an xhtml file.

There is method in the developers Madness.
If you remove/select no ticks, you unlink previous stylesheets |
