[H20] Occasionally sections of screen "lag" during refresh

I'm really happy with my H20, but I've recently noticed it's doing something new and worrying.

Sometimes (seems random, I've seen it do it twice in a row, but I just tried to reproduce it get a photo and it didn't do it at all for a lot of page turns) when "turning" the page I get a section of the previous page remain on the screen for a few seconds. It was a rectangle right down the middle. So either side updated fine, then after a few seconds the middle updated.

It's not something I mind about much, I can live with it given it's relative infrequency - doesn't bother me much at all, but I'm worried it might get more frequent (then it would be a pain), or a sign of something more major breaking down.

Why am I bringing it up now? Well, my warranty runs out on the first of November... So if it is a proper problem I have a few days to take it back to the store.

But after my experimentation, it's unlikely I'll be able to reproduce it (and it doesn't look particularly bad), so chances are they'll tell me it's fine and they can't do anything on warranty.

So, wondering if this sounds like any hardware problem anyone has had before, with the key question - did it get any worse?

Cheers!

Does it happen with only one book? or with every book? If it's only happening with 1 book, it might be a badly formatted book that the reader is just lagging trying to deal with displaying it properly.

I've only noticed it on a side-loaded book (so converted) that I've recently been reading, so it may well be. Didn't think of that! I'll have to read some other books real fast to test.

You haven't explicitly stated, but that makes me think you are talking about a kepub. And hence, I think you are describing the same problem as https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=266359. That doesn't include the flash of text from the previous page. But, I have seen both. If that is the case, it is a bug in the firmware. It is only in 3.18.0 and should be fixed in the next firmware release.

I checked and yes it was a side-loaded kepub. That sounds a fair bit like my problem. I do remember it happening on new chapter pages, and it's only since I recently updated the firmware.

I'm going to assume it's the same bug, which is a relief, no need to worry about the hardware.

Thanks a lot.
