Accessories Official kindle case

I know that there are tons of kindle voyage cases out there, (and reviews)but I wanted to know if the official kindle cases last longer than the cheaper choices? I think that I would like the origami style case. It does seem a bit pricey, but if it lasts, it would be worth it to me. Just looking for opinions from fellow mobileread members. I found many threads discussing all of the different cases, but it seems that only a couple of people choose the official cases from Amazon.

I've always used the Amazon official Kindle cases and find them very durable. I have the Kindle Voyage and the Origami case which is my all time favorite case. I love having the ability to have the Voyage stand securely so I can read while eating. The fit is perfect and it holds the Voyage in place but also allows for quick and easy removal. I think the cases are well worth the extra money.

I have the official origami case in blue leather. I received it on the release day, and it still looks new. I love the it.

I got the Voyage Origami case in Orchid. I found it easily scuffed at the bottom edges on the front so I put nail polish on the corners to try to limit the damage. I stopped using it as I prefer a book style case. Personally I don't think the Origami case for the Voayge is worth the money. I use the Swess case instead.

Edited to say the scuffing on the edges removed the pink colour. I have copic markers so I matched the colour, coloured that edges and then used clear nail polish to seal. The drawback of this is that it's worth far less now if I decided to sell it as the damage is obvious so it's a waste of money for me.

I have the black leather Origami case for my Voyage, and like it a lot. It hasn't scuffed.

I have the Orchid Origami since last Xmas if I remember well, am using my KV daily and it still looks new. I am travelling a lot and my KV has been with me everywhere, in handbags, beach backpacks and carry-ons for planes in its cover and as I said, it looks very good.

Added to say: my original PW cover, now, is an entire different story. I had the orange one and it lost its color badly. BUT... it came in contact at one point with sunscreen, ans that never works well with plastic.

Well I hate to be the odd one but it seems I am, my Orchid cover scuffed at the front bottom edges and the white showed through. I never returned it as I couldn't be bothered. (Plus I was trying to be good regarding returns, and what a waste that turned out to be) I can provide a picture if anyone else cares to doubt me and needs proof.

I have the limited edition leather origami cover. I ordered it in January after reading Harry's consistently high praise of the origami cover. I was afraid that it would stain, I'm not terribly gentle with my covers. I'm pleased to say it still looks great, and it's my favorite cover of any I've ever had on a Kindle.

Perhaps it's the difference between the real leather and the pleather covers. I have the black real leather, no scuffing at all, and really like it with one exception. When the screensaver starts, the button on the back is covered by the front cover when it's used as an easel, so hard to access. I solved this by putting a little "bumpon" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o03_s00 on the recessed button. A small piece of stick on felt works, too. Now I just squeeze the corner of the case where the button is to turn off the screensaver and read again, no need to pull the front cover away from the back.

I should note that mine is the standard leather cover, not the limited edition one.

Is yours the plastic cover or the leather one? I suspect the leather one is a lot more resistant to scuffing.

I find this part of your comment absolutely not OK. Where did I mention you in my post ???

Plus to be true, I understand you've had all sorts of problems with amazon but why does it have to come back in any post you are making these days ? I believe you with your cover, let's leave it at that, but I don't see what the return part has to do with the subject of this thread really.

Back on topic, my neighbour has a KV too but he uses the lemon original cover (I think it is called Citron). Although the plastic is OK, his cover has marks not of use per se but of ink, where I supposed he did store his KV with wet magazines at one time or another after the beach. I guess he could clean it if he made the effort, but he is not bothered.

Yes the Orchid cover is not leather, it's plastic. I have the leather third gen Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 case and it's lovely. The plastic ones are not in the same league at all.

My apologies if I offended you that was not my intention. My issues with Amazon do not cloud my judgement of the quality of the non leather Voyage Origami case.
