Help with template... or something else
---------------SOLVED Thanks for all your help---------------
Hi, so I've just had to replace my hard drive and all my calibre settings have been lost. I've rebuilt the library from a backup, added my plug-ins etc, but there is one thing I can't remember how to do, only that is has something to do with templates... I think. Take a book, say 'The Fellowship of the Ring' When I sent this to my devices (Kobo Glo/H2O) it used to add it like this: 'TLotR - 01 - The Fellowship of the Ring' The bold is just to highlight what I'm looking for. I'd like to know how I did this please. I've had a look around but can't seem to find the right search term to bring up the solution. I'd really appreciate any help with this as it makes organising my ereaders so much easier. Last edited by Glottis; 10-07-2015 at 12:57 PM. Reason: Problem Solved |

The search you wanted was "metadata plugboard". There are samples and discussion in https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=100949. If that "TLotR" is the series name (rather than an abbreviation from somewhere), the first in the Kindle/Kobo section is what you want.

See if this helps
To modify the book's title to <First Letter of Each word in Series> - <Number> - <Title> type Code:
{series:re(([^\s])[^\s]+(\s|$),\1)}{series_index:0>2s| - | - }{title} |

@PeterT Thank you, that was exactly what I was looking for, initial tests show it matching up with what's already on my H2O, hopefully I won't notice any little differences in future but for now it seems to work perfectly...
@BetterRed, a good point, I think I'll have a look at doing that, might save me some effort in the future. Can't believe I didn't think of it before though... |
