Marked books self resurecting

2.39 W10

I have (the same) 20 books that will not stay unmarked.
I right click: Clear marked books and the push pins go away.

I restart/quit Calibre
The next time that Library opens. They're back (the same 20)

Where are they stored please?

@theducks - They come from Find Duplicates PI, you must have marked some exclusions - you'll need to 'learn to live with them' or permanently remove the exclusions via the FD drop down menu option.

That was it

But...
They were FALSE entries (not false duplicate entry exclusions).
I cleared exclusions, then ran the PI again. No Dups (and no exclusions) I have no clue HOW? I don't frequently need/run this PI

They may have been lurking there for a while (years) and you never noticed them, maybe because they never clustered into a group before

Hopefully one day Grant will be have the time to move the resurrecting function from calibre startup to when the PI is started. I think it's in calibre startup for performance reasons, but with the 'new' in memory database scheme that's probably now moot.

They are stored in the library preferences table
