Replacement for my old Ebook reader?

My E-book Readers is old and sometime it has working problem. Thus I am planning to replace it by a new one.
I am considering between Amazon Kindle Voyage and Kindle Paperwhite.
Do you think which is best for me?
Amazon Kindle Voyage as Amazon's high-end Kindle offering designed for serious bookworms
or Kindle Paperwhite- that is cheaper than Kindle Voyage.
I am really confused.

I'd suggest waiting a few weeks. There are rumours that a new Voyage model may be announced around the end of the month.

Personally I think the Voyage is worth the extra cost; you may of course disagree. What you get extra with the Voyage are:
  • Metal, rather than plastic, case.
  • Toughened glass, rather than plastic, screen, which gives better contrast.
  • Haptic sensors (page turn buttons) on the bezel.
  • Light sensor which can, if you wish, automatically adject the screen lighting for the ambient conditions.
  • Smaller form factor.

Dear Harry,
Thank you for a quick reply!
As I've read on another thread in our forum, a lot of people prefer Voyage. To be honest, I'd like to buy it even though It is much more expensive than Paperwhite.
Waiting for a new Voyage mode sounds a good choice.

I think you'll find both a great improvement on your old (unlighted) Kindle. But there are strong rumours about a new Kindle being launched before the end of September - it's probably worth waiting to see what appears.

I second the Voyage recommendation.

I personally find larger screens more immersive and actually got rid of a Paperwhite a while back after briefly trying it.

Having said that, I have not liked a reader in a long while as much as I like the Voyage. I bought one largely as a stopgap, but I now enjoy reading on it very much, despite it being 6".

If you can, wait for the new Voyage, since it will presumably improve on the current one.

Heck, if they bump the screen size up a bit, i'd jump on the new one myself, even though I am very happy with the current model

Previously if I sought to answer your query I would have sought further information from you. I may well have recommended the Kobo. The H2O is a beautiful reader, and a pleasure to read on. However, I find I am buying virtually everything from Amazon these days. My preference is to convert and read on my H2O, but if I was able to do this with KU books it would result in the author not being paid. So I read these books on my Paperwhite 2 and, if out without my ereader, my mobile. Reading position sync works well across devices, a real convenience. I find I am using my H2O much less than I would like to.

At the moment the future is looking increasingly Amazon. For this reason I would recommend a Voyage or a Paperwhite. One caveat is that if you are outside the US and read a lot of library books via ADE, you will not be able to do this on your Kindle. If this is important to you, the H2O is a beautiful reader.

I have a Voyage and a Paperwhite. I very much prefer the Voyage but before I got it I was perfectly happy with the Paperwhite. I got the Voyage because it's smaller and lighter and that's kind of important to me. And sure enough, it's a lot smaller and easier to hold and much lighter.

There's only an ounce difference in the weight but that's almost 20%, which is more than a little bit. But since the Voyage is smaller the case is much lighter than the case for the Paperwhite. For both of them I have inexpensive very lightweight cases. With the case on the Paperwhite is more than twice as heavy as the Voyage. That makes a big difference when you hold it for extended periods.

I also like the flush screen. I'm not sure why. It just feels better to me. I can't really see any practical advantage. The screen being glass means I don't have to be quite as careful with it when it's not in it's cover and that's kind of nice but not a big deal. I keep it in the cover about half the time. Maybe a bit more.

While I'm reading I really can't tell much difference. It's mostly when I begin reading that the difference matters, and when I've been reading a long time and m hand begins to get a little more tired with the Paperwhite. But these are little things. I'm not really sure they amount to the price difference.

I guess what I'm trying to say is it doesn't matter a whole lot. The Voyage is nicer but the Paperwhite is so nice I'm not sure how much I care. And yet, my next one will probably be a Voyage as well.

I have the Paperwhite 2. As someone who owned a Kindle 4, I found this reader to be a vast improvement. The lighted screen has better contrast. I'm sure the Voyage is better than the Paperwhite but since I was upgrading from the Kindle 4, the Paperwhite already felt like a huge upgrade. When I tried the Voyage in a Best Buy, it didn't feel like a huge upgrade from the Paperwhite (to me anyway). If possible, I would try them both out in a store if possible. You might really feel that the Voyage is much better than the Paperwhite or you might think that the latter is good enough.

Wait until the end of November because November is when it's rumored that a new Voyage will be announced.

The Voyage and the paperwhite have the same size screen although the voyage has a higher resolution.

I have had a voyage for a while, it is a really nice device but I have grown tired of the frequency of page turns, the new page press buttons are ok but they are not the buttons from the K4 et-al, it would help if Amazon allowed more customisation of margins and headers/footers to fit more on a page but they don't and it looks like they never will

I recently picked up a Kobo H2o and whilst it is not as nice in the hand as the voyage the extra screen space coupled with more options for customisation means I can fit way more text on a page, the screen is great too.

I still have the voyage but am going to give the H2o a few weeks,so far for me the extra screen real estate wins out.

The current Paperwhite (PW3) has the same resolution screen as the current Voyage - 300ppi.

I was thinking about this (I wanted a water resistant reader). But.

1. I prefer a plastic case for my readers. I love the Sony but it's cold to the touch.
2. Can't comment on this, I don't even have problems with contrast on my old BeBook Mini.
3. A win, I agree.
4. I never liked automatic screen lightnings, they always stay too light in dark surroundings.
5. The most important reason I didn't go for the Voyage.

I wasn't sure about the difference between a 6" and a 6.8" screen when I bought my T68. But after using that for about a week, I decided I didn't want to go back to 6"... Every time I see my husband's Kindle, I think: that's so tiny! (strangely enough, I still use my 5" BBM and don't have a problem with that, but it's not my main reader anymore).

So, the extra screen real estate was very important, and add to that the lack of options towards margins on the Kindles, there simply was only one option...
