Naming folders by title?

When I convert books, each books appears in the Calibre library under the author's name. I prefer it to by book title. Is there a way to set this up?

See the FAQ.

Calibre's library folder(s) is for Calibre only, and not for you (except by way of Calibre's UI, obviously). Don't go in Calibre's library folders. Just pretend they're not there. If you want to open/manipulate ebook files directly, use the Export/Save to Disk feature, which gives you copies of your files with paths customized to your heart's content.

But don't use Calibre's library folders directly. It's bad.

Well, except if you want to back them up. Then you can do that. A lot, please.

@sprocke - if you only want to use calibre for conversions etc, you can use the calibre command line utilities see ==>> Command Line Interface

Some utilities, eg ebook-convert, do not require a library, they read and write files from/to locations specified in the command.

I use VBS script that calls calibredb -export to copy my epubs from the real Calibre database to a 'working' folder. Using the -template option, I can format the file name to be Author-Title-Series, etc. (Alexandre Dumas-Three Musketeers, The.epub)

I put them into a single folder without any additional files

Code:
calibredb export --all --dont-save-cover --dont-write-opf --format epub --single-dir --template "{authors}-{series}{series_index:0>2s|[|]-}{title}" --to-dir D:\Working
