Been away for a while - more books blocked?

I've been away from Calibre for about a year and am just now getting back to using it to convert books for my Kindle. I've been downloading epub books from my public library and am noticing a huge increase in the number that are unable to be converted because of DRM protection. Is it me, or has the number of protected books just shot up in recent months? I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong in Calibre or if ebooks in general are becoming harder and harder to convert. If the latter is true, I might just abandon attempts to convert altogether. It takes too much time to download/open in Adobe Publisher/import into Calibere, etc., etc., only to be halted by the DRM notice at the end of the process. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Join a library that lends in kindle formats, then all is legal and simple. FLP is very good and just $50 per year from outside of usa

Make sure you've got the latest Apprentice Alf plugin. There have been changes and have been corrected by more recent plugins.

As far as I recall, Open EPUB books have always been the oddity, most library ebooks do not have that option.

Most books have an option to checkout for Kindle, though -- at least in the U.S. You haven't told us which country you live in.

DRM is a problem that is easily solved, but the tools are only supported for books that you have purchased -- not library loans.
