Still very happy with my Aura HD

I'm still very happy with my Aura HD? What about my fellow Aura HD users?

Cheers

I am too. Bought it almost 2 years ago, still running on v3.1.1, and beyond 500 hours of reading. Actually, as long as it's working fine, I don't even know what could make me buy another e-reader.

I had a black one, which I liked, but decided it was too big, so I sold it. But recently I came across a brown one for sale, so I got one, and I'm glad I did. It's really nice. I just use it for non-fiction. I love the back, so easy to hold. Mine was new, so I hope it will last for years to come!

It's a very good reader, but I had (and still have) an issue with something that has failed that controls the screen.

I would still recommend this reader, however, if one can find it used. I have fond memories of enjoying it.

My next one (may?) be the Aura H20.

A happy user too. I've been tempted to change it for a H2O, since I'm a geek, but the differences are not important enough to go for it. I use it at home, and I have a Mini for when I'm going out, fits better in my purse.

I found it very hard to hold personally. The bevel was too small and flat and the back too slippery. A third party item solved that and I've had no other complaint with the hardware.

The software could do with some work though. Primarily Kobo's apparently awful software development practices - there have been several obvious bugs introduced in my time of ownership. A few more options such as a U shaped forward tapping area and a (terse) encyclopedia instead of a dictionary would be nice though. I find half the words I want to look up aren't going to be in a dictionary.

I've had my Aura HD for a little over a year now--still love it. Love the customization options with the fonts, line spacing, and margins--and of course the fact that I can add my own fonts. It's a great reader!

Started my ebook/eink experience with the Aura HD. But after approximately one year when the H2O became available I fell for it because of its better screen contrast. Both HD and H2O are really decent devices, never regretted buying them, even with their price tags. Also immediately purchased Kobo's sleep covers, that turned out to be good investments. No display woes so far.

I will also hold onto my Aura HD until it bites the dust. The case that I bought from a Chinese online shop fits it perfectly and does what it's supposed to do. All that for a mere $3.00 (and...free shipping)!

I loved my HD until it died a horrible death on a set of stairs. Now I love my H2O even more.

I'm another very satisfied Aura HD owner. Bought it when it became available in the UK (a little more than 2 years ago now, i think). I use it every day. Love the size, the weight, and the light.

My Aura HD is about 2 years old, with current firmware and about 1200 hours of reading.

However, the refresh have been pretty slow for a couple on months, it is annoying. It is not just when reading, but on every screen. There is still some place on the disk (80% full) and the database is ok (integrity checked with calibre, size 16Mo).

Any idea what I can do to get it back to normal? Mind, it was not fast before, but it was not this slow.

Otherwise, love it.
