Books disappearing from Kindle PW

Hi all, I have a Kindle voyage and use calibre to organize my books I download them & then side load them to my Voyage once I have put them in order. I have 2 series of books by the same author which I purchased from Amazon UK, once I put them in reading order and transfer them the disappear from my home screen & collections, however they are still showing as on the device in the main memory. If I download them from the cloud they show up but not in reading order, if anyone can help with this I'd be grateful.

@ehani-
This is typically an indexing issue (on your kindle). Remove the books from your device and re-convert them in Calibre (mobi->mobi, azw3->azw3) and then resend the new conversion.
You may not need to re-convert all of the missing books, but it can be difficult to figure out which one(s) is the problem.

Hi just tried the above & it didn't work on all of the books I'm afraid. Not sure what else to try.

After doing a re-conversion, are you being careful to send the new version and delete the old one?
Do the books show up in the 'List View' on your kindle?

Check to see whether any books have become "stuck" while indexing; this can cause the home screen not to correctly refresh.

To do this, go to the home screen, tap the "Search" button, and enter a string of random letters as a search string. When the results screen appears, if the "Text in Books" option is not greyed out, tap it, and see if it displays a message of the form "NN books not yet indexed".

Hi GoSharks, yes after conversion I am sending the new ones to kindle and deleting the old ones.

Hi, I did as you suggested and found 101 books that are not indexed. Not sure what to do about them though

This shows that you have at least one book file that your kindle is choking on (stuck indexing). Once this happens, the rest of the books won't index and so will not show up.

You need to remove the non-indexed books and either re-convert all of them in Calibre (which usually fixes them) or send the books to your kindle in small batches so you can find out which particular file is bad and then re-convert it.... in the future, when sending a large quantity of books, it is usually a good idea to send the books in small batches and then wait for them to index before sending the next batch as way to avoid this exact problem.

Yes, exactly. I'd suggest adding books in batches of no more than 20, and waiting for one batch to finish indexing before adding the next.

Books index a lot more quickly when the Kindle is plugged in to a wall charger.
