				Mobi-AZW3 conversion destroys tables

In Calibre, converting from mobi to AZW3 destroys all my tables by turning all the cells into single lines with carriage returns. Is there any way to fix this? (I have hundreds of tables, so it will have to be something global.) |

If it's any help, I noticed that the tables that get ruined are the ones with several columns. In my experience, 6 columns won't work, but 2 or 3 are OK. I don't know where the cutoff point is. Also, the problem occurs not just with conversion but also with Edit and Unpack. |

In my case, the source file was AZW3. The mere act of opening it in the editor or unpacking it would affect the table. I had to convert to epub, edit that, and then convert back to mobi (steering clear of AZW3 to preserve the tables). |

Could someone please explain what this thread means. I tried to move some AZW3 or Mobi (I do not know which) in a newly updated copy of Calibre 2.35. I was not seeing anything happening. I went looking in Calibre preferences and I no longer have any plugins installed. And when I try to get plugins, Calibre can't find the library. Could that be what is being discussed here? |

Turn off the option to linearize tables that you have turned on in the Look & Feel section of the conversion dialog.

Linearize tables isn't enabled. I thought that would be it, but no. |

Then there is no way a conversion can be linearizing tables. Something else is going on. Follow the instructions at: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=186697

In my case, even the ones with only 2 columns get messed up.
