Full Screen Mode
will kobo ever implement a full screen mode? in a future firmware that works perfectly with epub and kepub.

@koboy: You do know that Kobo rarely post anything here?
Did you SERIOUSLY expect to get a reply from them here, or is this just another opportunity to make a smart arsed comment here. Any reply anyone else could have made here would not have been worth the electrons it took to write. |

And with those patches there are still some bugs, maybe Kobo is trying to refine those issues before they enable this feature as a setting. And who could blame them, some elements of their user base seem to only be content if they're complaining. |

But then in the other thread you are complaining that you believe patches take away any incentive for Kobo to make the changes you want.

"why are some of you so quick to patch everything? no wonder the kobo developers don't add new features like full screen reading for example into there official firmware releases, when some are more than happy to use 3rd party mods and patches."
is complaining "I believe that the rush to patch the Kobo firmware unofficially is slowing down official progress" is stating an opinion |

One answer is that Kobo is an open platform. So why not? If that worries you, Kindles are much less open. The second part is the complaint as you believe that a feature that matters to you is held back by it.

As an example - I don't really see the need for added readers on the Kobo (such as Koreader)
BUT the fact they can exist is good, it means that you can customise the device a little more than others. Just cause it doesn't scratch my itch means I feel the need to restrict others with an itch ;-) |
