Troubleshooting New Firmware and the "New" Tag

Does the new firmware (5.6.5) version deleted the feature that named unread (or not yet open) pdocs and ebooks as "new"? My Kindle PW2 is not displaying " new" anymore, but I dont know if it was happening before, I just noticed it after the update.

I wouldn't think so, that would be rather stupid if they did.

I do know that the "New" tag eventually goes away on its own, if you keep it for a few days without opening it. (Deleting and redownloading still shows it as new.)
