How do I copy books to Kobo Reader without using Nickel?

I've installed koreader and start menu on my Kobo reader, but I'm quite confused how I can transfer books into my device via USB or WIFI without switching to Nickel... Any help is appreciated, thanks

Device: Kobo: Not just an eReader, it's an adventure!
Connect the device to your computer via USB. When the device asks to connect, press the connect button. It will show up as a drive under windows.

Copy the epub files to the drive.

Disconnect the drive in windows.

Physically disconnect the drive.

The device will then process the files.

This should work, unless koreader has some other requirements I'm unaware of.

I guess the question is how to connect from Kobo Start Menu via usb to your pc. Select "usb", and then "info". Read the instructions that appear. Touch at the middle of the screen to open the bottom menu. In the bottom menu press "close" in order to close the information screen. Now follow the instructions that you read.

If you then open the file explorer on your pc, you should find a drive with the name KOBOeReader.

If you did this already, and it did not work, there might be a problem with your USB driver (on the pc), the USB cable, the USB port, ...

Another point: If you want to read the books only with koreader (or coolreader), put the books into a folder that starts with a dot, for example: ".mybooks".
If you want to read these books with nickel too, copy them after connecting to the pc by nickel instead, and do not put them into a dot-folder.

Murg's description presupposes that nickel is running at the time of connecting.

If you enabled wifi, you could probably use my WebPortal/FileManager mod to upload files through the web browser. Haven't actually tested it with KSM, though. Also I don't know if KSM offers its own wifi methods for such things.
