Default dictionary and refresh after lookup for a word
Hi!
I loaded into my Glo HD some dictionaries made up with the tool Penelope, converting bgl into Stardict files and then into the Kobo Formart. They all are English or English-Italian dictionaries; in order to load them I replaced the English-Italian dictionary, the Portoguese dictionary, The Engish-Portoguese dictionary etc Well the default dictionary is obviously the English one, but if the last dictionary I use is the Portoguese, this remains set as the default. Why? is there a way to set a preferred dictionary as default, aside that renaming the dictionary that I want as the English one? It would be usefully the ability to set a particular dictionary as the the default for every book I read, because some books need a technical dictionary, and changing the preference at every look-up is very annoying. Plus, is there the possibility to disable the refresh of the screen after the dictionary window closes, maybe with a patch? (I would use Korerader but it doesn't see the Stardict dictionary I would use, even if with Stardict Editor they're ok) Thanks! |

The default dictionary is taken from the language of the book. If there isn't a dictionary, or the book doesn't set the language, the interface language will be used.
When you change the dictionary while reading a book, that is remembered for the book. That dictionary will become the default for the book. There isn't any way to set the default dictionary using the interface. It is stored in the database on the device, so if you wanted to you could add the appropriate rows. |

What I described is what is working here with firmware 3.17.3. Remembering the dictionary has been in the firmware for a while.
