Hello,
after playing around a bit there is suddely a new row: "Auf dem Gerät" and Calibre (2.39.0) runs to "Liste der Bücher auf dem Gerät erhalten". Unfortunately after 50% the program crashes and after restarting it runs again. I tried to deinstall and install again, but I can't get a virgin program. It just goes on looping. It says "connected with folder device" but there is no device connected. No change when I connect a reader. How can I stop it or how can I completely deinstall the program? Or where saves Calibre bits that it finds again after reinstall? Sorry about my english. The program runs in german. |

@Poldi - What operating system and version are you using - Windows/OSX/Linux?
To save current calibre preferences/settings see ==>> How do I backup calibre? If you run the Welcome wizard (Preferences bottom right) that should reset the calibre preferences/setting back to original values. BR |

Hi,
apparently you don't understand: Calibre runs in a loop and blocks any other activities. I can't open preferences or anything else. I am using Win 10 64 so what I need is to find the place of the config directory. I deinstalled the program, erased the calibre folder under c:/programs, restarted and installed new. But as soon as I start it, calibre tries to get the list of the books on the nonexisting device again and crashes after 50%. So there seems no end to it. And I can't find the config directory because I can't open preferences. I just want to do a clean new install. |

@Poldi - It'll be at %APPDATA%\calibre - just rename or delete the folder and calibre will do the rest.
