wikipedia failing
I have been trying to use the search function for looking up
terms in wikipedia..ie highlight word and hit wikipedia search
and it is coming back as
'Certificate not trusted'

The host en.m.wikipedia.org:443 uses an invalid certificate...etc

and it has two options ...Go back or continue
I hit continue
and it comes back with the same message

So what is the story..anyone else had this issue or error?

My Glo has software version 3.15.0

Google search works very well...
but because of this crook security certificate...
... Wikipedia doesn't function

I just checked here with Glo running 3.15.0 and it is working with no problems. But, a certificate error is unlikely to be an error on the device. It's more likely a problem with the site. Maybe they have fixed it since.

Yes ...so the address mentioned is the.. english... mobile... main website for
wikipedia.
So if your kobo is working with software version 3.15.0
and this website...
why is mine saying its an invalid security certificate?

Do I have to reset my Kobo or something?

Wikipedia now requires all traffic to be secured with SSL. You may need an update. Kindles made prior to the Kindle Keyboard (which got an update in January for this) are no longer able to access Wikipedia.

Yes ..so they have to update their methods of SSL certificate for the Wikipedia site.
So I am asking ...why is mine not working?
davidfor..who is using the same version of 3.15.0 is working.

Which is why I am seeking help from people with more knowledge on Kobo

Thank you...great minds think alike! haha
I checked my date and time ...and its back at May and 2012..and wrong time
so updated that manually...as setting my time zone
didnt seem to have any effect!

Then did a resynch...using Kobo desktop
and then restarted Kobo

and tried search again.

So now I have Wikipedia back again...
but originally....didnt think to check time/date
I assume that has an effect on its validation or something similar?

Anyway ...its now working again

Certificates have the date ranges that they are valid encoded within them, so if your date was wrong the certificate could be flagged as being invalid.

I wasnt checking my date/time
but with my latest book I was looking at some characters
on Wikipedia...obviously non fiction
and voila...no go

and now I know to make sure that is correct.
I dont always turn on wi-fi...
so obviously it wasnt keeping very good time/date
