I broke my kindle voyage. It didn't stand a chance; I fell on it. So I ordered the new Paperwhite. Should be here tomorrow......Oh by the way, I got scratches & bruises all over.

Still under warrenty contact CS they send you another one! My son put his knee on my 1st k3 they replaced it!

The warranty is irrelevant. This is not a situation to which the warranty applies. The warranty covers the device spontaneously developing a fault, not the user breaking it.

Forget about warranty.

.....but sometimes Amazon has a big heart. Just tell them the truth. You might get a coupon out of it, or a discount toward a new Kindle.

I broke my Kindle playing handball with it. I dropped it in the bathroom--I read a lot there as I get old--and when I grabbed for it I missed and slapped it into the tile over concrete wall at about 20 mph.

I called and got a replacement with a discount that made me happy. Was it a refurb? I really didn't care.

I wouldn't feel right trying to get a free one. Instead I ordered the newest PW. Got it already. Like it a lot, but then I liked my PW1 too. Did notice the size & weight difference though.

I sat on my first kindle, I actually just put it in my back pocket and went driving... I know, I'm stupid... Amazon replaced it, they are nice sometimes. I do buy a lot of content though, maybe it was that, don't know.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

Actually I'm pretty sure that all three versions paperwhites are the same size. They all fit into the amazon official case which is very form fitting. There may be a little weight difference between the versions though.

The PW's are all the same size. The OP is coming from a Voyage though which is smaller and lighter.
