Some questions about the Kobo Mini

Hello to everyone,
I have an Italian Kobo Mini (with the customization of Mondadori, an important bookstore chain) with 3.4.1 firmware. During this weekend I read that someone installed the 3.15 firmware to the Mini. But is it really safe? Could be there the possibility to brick the device? If I install this firmware, will I lose the customization? Then could I return back to the original firmware?
Thanks a lot

Mini user here, flashed multiple firmware versions including 3.15 and 3.16 with no issue. I don't think anyone has reported having any issues flashing.

Worst case scenario would mean you would need to take the back off the kobo and take the microSD card out and flash a new image to it with your PC.

Simply download the Mark 4 firmware and flash away.

Assuming you are in Italy, you should be able to return by, doing a factory reset and then a local initialization with the current firmware.

Luck;

I have updated my Mini by downloading the update from direct link to Kobo Firmware then Copy Paste the update to my Mini. The store affilliation did not change. This site does have threads on how to change store affilliation. You can also open your Mini copy internal uSD card to new larger up to 32GB card that you install into you Mini. There are threads telling you how to do this. You can then keep original uSD card as backup copy. I think Kobo Mini is easy to open and reassemble but I have been taking things apart and sometimes putting them back together before I was 8 years old.
