2nd E-Reader: Upgrading From A Nook Simple Touch
The only e-reader I have ever owned is the Nook Simple Touch. I purchased it at the time because Barnes and Noble sent me a coupon for a $50 gift card with the purchase on any e-reader or tablet, making it $99 + $50 gift card. Thus I've been using it since 2012.
Book Format(s): ePUB Number of Books: ~375 Collection size: ~2.5GB Wishlist

The Kobo Aura H2O ticks all your boxes. 6.8" Carta screen, frontlight, ePUB support and SD slot.

Yeah, I gotta agree. The H2O satisfies all your requirements, including the Preferences. I've had one for a couple of months now and absolutely love it.
If cost is a factor, you might look at the new Kobo Glo HD. It doesn't have expandable storage or a larger screen, but it satisfies all other requirements. And it's $50CDN less then the H2O. ($129.99 vs $179.99.) |

I must admit I liked the Hanlin V3 (a BeBook One) a lot as well. I ran OpenInkpot on it, when that was still under development. Pity that didn't go anywhere; I'd love OpenInkpot on my H2O ![]() |

The Kobo does sound like it might be a good choice for you.
Keep in mind that if your ePub's are from B&N and have DRM that this DRM is different than the "standard" Adobe Adept DRM that other ePub eInk readers support. Just something to be aware of if your trying to use B&N ePub files that haven't had their DRM removed. |
