Need help
Hello All,
I tried the update to 3.17.0 from 3.15.0 and sickle went into a reboot loop. I let it try a factory reset. Screen went blank and turned off. I can't turn it back on via the button. I use the reset port and the power light flashes once and goes back off. I can not perform a manual factory reset. What do I do now? |

The first thing to do is charge the device. The LED flashing and going off is usually a sign the battery is flat. If this is the case, it will probably just turn on by itself after a few minutes on charge.
If that doesn't work, then you can do factory reset. For the Aura H2O and other Kobo devices without a second button, the factory reset process is: - Charge the battery for at least an hour. - Hold the power button down for 20 seconds to ensure the device is off. - Push and hold the power button down and immediately start tapping both bottom corners of the screen. - When the screen does something, stop tapping and release the power button. If it doesn't work, try again. I did this with my Glo HD recently, and it took about 10 tries before I got it right. If that doesn't work your choices are to complain to Kobo and get it replaced. Or write an image to the internal SD card. That requires opening the device which will void the warranty and the waterproofness. |

Thank you for the advice. I complained to Kobo before I got your reply. I just could not get the factory reset to work.
