The Skwerl Thread ...

So, I'm getting caught up on my Time Magazine reading, and I open my newest issue (July 7, 2008) only to happen on an article about "a guy named Skwerl." (page 21 if anyone is all that curious)

I have no idea how many guys there are out there who call themselves "Skwerl" .... but really, how many can there be?? Then again, as he himself states "Skwerls are the people who make the Internet useful." So perhaps there is an entire army or nation of Skwerls.

Who knew??

Arf! Arf, Arf!

Squirrels like to eat birdseed from our feeder but our dog loves to stealthly watch from afar until the right moment and then race them to the nearest tree. This was a fun game to watch until one day she won the race and the squirrel was in her jaws. That was a bit horrifying to us because we had thought that if she ever caught one she might just "play" with the little critter - not kill it. Okay, people can be both delusional and stupid. We don't let her play that game any more.

I particularly like the definitions of "skwerl" in the Urban Dictionary.

"A squirrel that's part of an evil conspiracy to conquer the Earth and manipulate Acorn supplies to their diabolical advantage."

I had a dog that chased squirrels. Similar to yours he almost had one. It tried to dash through the chain link fence but instead bounced off. Bo (the dog) just stopped and waited for it to continue running.

that's surprisingly fairplay for a dog.

Oh .... I really wish I hadn't gone to that site. I don't like reading stuff like that about squirrels .... even if it's true.
