Hi,
Could you advise me. I have a website and want to create here an Online Library. It will be rather simple library (for opportunity to download the total files of books (pdf, djvu, doc, docx),search. Is the Calibre - a correct software for my purpose? As I understood, Calibre is mainly a platform for manage e-books through the home computer. Is it possible to use it (with interface) on a website for creating there an Online library? |

calibre comes with a builtin Content Server from which browsers can search for and download books from your calibre library. See the Connect/Share toolbar icon.
I have never explored what options are available for creating a web-based ebook library, it is possible there are better programs for doing so, but I can certainly say with confidence that calibre can be used for that purpose. ![]() |

Yes. It is possible. The Calibre content server is excellent. However, I would recommend calibre2opds. The mobileread Wiki has some useful information. You may like to look at the following page in particular which has some screenshots.
https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Calibre2Opds_Using I have it set up on a QNAP NAS and can access it both from my internal network and the internet. It works well with Kobo and Kindle EReaders and Moon on Android. Fantastic when you are on the road. |
