Free (nook/Kindle/iTunes/ePub) Tapestry of Hope [Xtian 1840s Plantation Family Drama]

A Tapestry of Hope by Tracie Peterson & Judith Miller is the 1st in their Lights of Lowell series of historical literary family saga drama novels centred around a young woman traded into an arranged marriage where she becomes the mistress of a Mississippi plantation in the mid-19th century and faces assorted challenges throughout her life, this installment setting up her initial situation with her distant and difficult husband, and a co-story focusing on one of the Irish immigrant servants in his household, free courtesy of Christian publisher Baker's Bethany House imprint.

The customer reviews seem to be pretty much agreed that this doesn't have actual romantic content to justify the historical romance category it's partially categorized and apparently misfiled under, and that some of the content may be rather disturbing besides, with depictions of period-accurate historical abuses. YMMV.

Currently free, apparently as one of the new rotation of 1st-in-series long-term introductory freebies @ B&N (may also drop in the UK), Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK, Kobo & iTunes & Google Play (all available to Canadians). Price-drop-check linkage for ChristianBook (ADE-DRM ePub available worldwide), where these things usually also go free.

Description
Tapestry of Hope weaves together the heartrending and hope-building stories of two young women.

Jasmine Wainwright is the sheltered daughter of a Mississippi plantation owner. When her father strikes a deal to sell his cotton to Lowell mills through businessman Bradley Houston, he throws an arranged marriage with Jasmine into the bargain.

Kiara O'Neill and her brother escape starvation in Ireland by traveling to America as Bradley Houston's indentured servants. But Bradley has more in mind for Kiara than she wants to imagine.

Both women suffer in the home of this unloving husband and merciless master. Will God somehow bring hope to their lives?
