eventhandler install failing on Kindle 4 NT

HI,

I'm trying to install dos1's eventhandler package on my Kindle 4 NT. I copy the update_eventhandler_0.2_kindle4.bin file to my Kindle's user partition, Eject it from the PC, and Update my Kindle.

It starts to update, but then fails with error code U006.

Any ideas what I should do?

Hugo

U006 is the generic 'oh shit' error code for the updater, usually meaning the update script failed at one point.

If said update script does some logging, looking at the system logs might shed some light on this.

If it doesn't, touch luck? ;p.

Not familiar with this piece of code, so those are generic answers.

Unsurprisingly enough, the K4 support is marked as untested.

Looking at the install script, it would need refactoring to actually run on the K4, so, not surprising that it fails.

Thanks for the replies guys.

In the end I managed to do what I wanted, which was simply to get some python running on boot in normal user mode.

What was tripping me up was that I didn't realise that:
A) normal mode and diagnostic mode are on different partitions
B) The two modes use different initialisation setups

Yes, the Kindles are "Dual Boot (dual OS install)" devices.
Have been since at least the K3, perhaps earlier.
