Codename Zero by Chris Rylander is the 1st in their Codename Conspiracy series of tween/YA humorous middle-schooler-with-a-secret-espionage-mission work/life-balance adventure novels, this installment setting up the premise of the North Dakotan kid being recruited to save the world (or at least foil local evil), free courtesy of publisher HarperCollins' Walden Pond Press imprint, which I'd hope were made up of books containing hidden Thoreau references.

Currently free @ B&N UK, Amazon UK, iTunes UK, & Kobo (available to the UK), and probably also Google Play UK, although I can't easily check that from Canada.

Unlikely to cross the pond in any direction, as this was decidedly unfree in all the other regional stores I spot-checked, and we generally have a fairly low transmigration rate for HarperCollins UK freebies anyway, though YMMV.
