R.I.P

Well, today I said farewell to my Aura HD. As will come as no surprise to anyone, fumble-fingering an Aura and having it tumble down a set of stairs = no more Aura HD.

Now I need to scare up $203.39 to get an H2O...

Based upon the description, it sounds like there's a black hole at the end of them stairs. Thus the no more Aura HD ...

Seriously though, feel free to describe the symptoms. A tumble like that probably means a broken screen, but there is a small chance that a connection came loose. If that is the case, popping the back off then reseating the cables and internal uSD card could save a couple of hundred dollars.

Thanks for the thought Lynx-lynx but the substrate is definitely toast.

You have my sympathy. In the past I've managed to damage the screen on my mobile phone at the time, which set me back a couple of hundred dollars. It was my fault. I did drop it and had to live with the consequences. And mobile phones are generally much more robust.

On the bright side, you will be getting a fantastic device in the H2O. Just get a good cover which avoids flexing as much as possible. Unfortunately, I don't think the cover exists that will protect it from a fall down stairs.

"Ahhh Sir, just a moment, I know I have it somewhere here," as Columbo rummages in his pockets.
