Where do I start?

Hi,
I have been following this forum for some time. Recently, I decided to start write some extensions myself. I read through some post but I still haven't got clue on how to start. Is there some guide on how to start? Thank you.

One of the items there is his cross-compile toolchain, very useful for writing code meant to run on ARM devices considering your PC probably isn't.

Beyond that -- what are you thinking of doing?
