I just recently did a search, yet again, for the Cadfael cozy mystery series by Ellis Peters at the Philadelphia Library, and they now have the ebooks!!!
They also now have the outstanding and deeply moving Brothers of Gwynedd -- historical fiction covering the saga of Llywelyn, the last crowned Welsh Prince of Wales, written using her real name, Edith Pargeter -- with The Heaven Tree Trilogy yet to be acquired, though I see they're fund-raising for more ebooks. Apparently I've not been the only one looking for them -- I find them great to curl up with; she takes good care of her readers, and the character of Brother Cadfael is, for me, a comforting one. Here's the link to the library: http://www.freelibrary.org/ Their ebooks: http://freelibrary.lib.overdrive.com...en/Default.htm And for getting a card: http://libwww.freelibrary.org/register/getcard1.cfm So if you have an account there ($50/yr now), you can reserve and download those books to read. Yes, the Open Library also has most of them, but they're a real mess, bad products of unedited fast scanning. The many books I've checked out from the Philadelphia Library have always been of good quality. Last edited by Under the Covers; 04-10-2015 at 05:13 PM. Reason: add links |

Also at Brooklyn Public Library
Thanks for alerting me to these! Love the audiobooks narrated by Derek Jacobi, and also picked up one that is a BBC Audiobook dramatization and look forward to listening to it tonight.
They are also available at the Brooklyn Public Library for which I have an out-of-state membership @ $50 per year. If you would like to join, you can use this online form, and send a check to them or else they can set up your membership and put the annual fee as a library fine which you can pay by credit card. I consider it a great value, as my local library has a very small collection of ebooks and not part of the Overdrive system. |

Brother Cadfael is a set I've collected in its entirety, in paperback. Great stuff! I started the Gwynedd ones, but didn't get too far.

Where is the button or link or offer for the 90% off at Kobo? I just see two pages listing the 21 books.
EDIT: Ahhh, a one-time-per-account 90% coupon code. (I retired, so never made the Sony switch to the Kobo store, switching instead to borrowing from Philly Library.)
