Thumbs up Free (Kindle) Vietnam: Casualties of War [YA Military Experience Historical Novel]

Vietnam: Casualties of War by Chris Lynch is the 4th in his Vietnam series of YA historical military experience novels centred around the somewhat traumatic experiences of four young friends who are drafted into the eponymous conflict, this installment following the friend who enlists in the US Air Force, free courtesy of publisher Scholastic.

The series overall has a lot of quoted blurb praise from various review outlets in the editorial section.

Currently free @ Amazon (available to Canadians). If this isn't a glitch, you can probably expect to see it show up @ B&N, Kobo & iTunes & Google Play eventually, so linked for your price-drop-check convenience.

And this has been the (late!) selected 3rd (non-repeat) ebook thread of the day.

Because stuff about military conflicts which also pays attention to the devastating emotional effects and human costs of war, as well as the more thrilling action adventure aspects, could use a bit more prominence, so it's nice to get one of them free, especially one that seems to be well-done and highly regarded, and educational for the kiddies, too!

Enjoy!

Description
Morris, Rudi, Ivan, and Beck are best friends for life. So when one of the teens is drafted into the Vietnam War, the others sign up, too. Although they each serve in a different branch, they are fighting the war together -- and they promise to do all they can to come home together.

Of the four, it's Beck that has the most to lose. He's the smart one of the bunch, and he could be -- SHOULD be -- going to college. His parents certainly think so. But he has a pact to honor, and so Beck enlists in the US Air Force.

As their tours of duty near completion and the war itself spirals further out of control, the four best friends are at last on a collision course. Will they all survive long enough to be reunited?
