Calibre 2.21 problem
I want to follow Better Read's suggestion to post a thread of my own, but I am not sure how to do that. Can a moderator split what follows into its own thread and send me a link to it so I know where to find it?

REsults I got when opening Calibre 2.21: calibre, version 2.21.0 ERROR: Startup error: There was an error during calibre startup. Parts of calibre may not function. Click Show details to learn more. Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\main.py", line 245, in initialize_db_stage2 File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\main.py", line 182, in start_gui File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\ui.py", line 414, in initialize File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\init.py", line 582, in save_layout_state File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\library\views.py", line 498, in save_state File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\library\views.py", line 492, in write_state File "site-packages\calibre\db\backend.py", line 126, in set File "site-packages\calibre\db\backend.py", line 122, in __setitem__ File "site-packages\calibre\db\backend.py", line 804, in execute File "c:\cygwin64\home\kovid\sw\build\apsw-3.8.2-r1\src\cursor.c", line 231, in resetcursor CantOpenError: CantOpenError: unable to open database file End End of errors following Kovid's advice I implemented the steps he suggested and I opened 2.21 successfully; however all my categories said zero books. that means i have to use Calibre to rebuild my library from my backup. Does anyone know of traps and errors to avoid when adding books back from backup? I suppose the add-back is by each book and not a group of books for the same author? All experience shared will be much appreciated. Thank you !!! Almost-Retired! Moderator Notice
Done - there's a New Thread (too small) button at top left of each (sub) forum (below Stickies) BR Last edited by BetterRed; 03-21-2015 at 06:35 PM. |
