DRM check?

I have several hundred ebooks. Some of them have DRM on them but I don't know which ones. Is there a check in Calibre to easily identify which books are DRMed and thus won't open on all my devices, or will I have to do this manually by trying to open each book on my devices?

No check in calibre, but if you install the DeDRM tools into calibre it doesn't matter -- the import will attempt to DeDRM each one in turn.

There is also DRM Check (by pdurrant), a standalone python script which can be run in a loop against all *.epub *.azw* *.mobi files
or
(calibre) [GUI Plugin] Quality Check which can check all EPUB formats only in your library for DRM.

Yes, like I said.

pdurrant's DRM Check is better (for a given value of better, since it doesn't do bulk on its own) because it checks MOBI/AZW3 as well.

I used the Count Pages plugin for that. I let it compute a pagecount for the lot and everything that ended up without a pagecount (because CP couldn't deal with it) either had DRM or was corrupt in some other way.

So if you use Count Pages, it will do the job as well (even if it's just a side-effect).

Thanks! This seems to have worked! DRM Check doesn't work for books already in my library, just books being added to the library, and deleting and re-adding all my books to my library is just what I wanted to avoid.

Why do you say DRM Check doesn't work on books in your library?

The only issue should be passing it filenames, and since doing it in bulk requires that anyway...
