Hellsbane by Paige Cuccaro (ISFDB) is the 1st in her eponymous series of f/m contemporary urban fantasy adventures/paranormal romances which star a half-human/half-angel heroine who becomes a heavenly bounty hunter in a war against demons, this installment setting up the obligatory origin story alongside her search for her fallen angel father, free courtesy of publisher Macmillan's Entangled Select Otherworld imprint.

Although Entangled is indeed generally a dedicated romance imprint, all the books in the series thus far follow the same heroine on her journey of self-discovery/demon ass-kicking and many of the summaries barely mention a romantic entanglement at all (apparently, she does acquire a boyfriend eventually) and have a strong focus on the demonwar aspect, which argues for a fair amount of overall arching series worldbuilding and plot amidst all the expected sexyfuntimes, so less romantically-inclined paranormal urban fantasy-loving Gentle Readers might also wish to give this one a try, if the premise sounds like something they might like.

A bit by default, but it does look kind of interesting and it's sfnal-ish, which gets it bonus points, and it's promisingly paranormally-oriented in a more plot-with-benefits direction than the usual PNRs we get, so hopefully it works out for more regular urban fantasy readers as well.

She's half angel, too, and now Heaven's got a job for her: round up all the Fallen angels and their red-skinned, horned devil-demon minions and boot their butts back into the abyss. Only problem? The demons and their Fallen masters fight back…and they don't fight fair.

Luckily for Emma, she can put a stop to the constant threat of having her head hacked off if she figures out which Fallen angel is her father--and then kill him before he kills her. Of course, in the meantime, she'll have to avoid accidentally seducing her angelic mentor, help an old friend conquer his own Fallen sperm donor, and basically save the world from a cataclysmic divine smack down.

No one said being Heaven's bounty hunter would be easy. But with a name like Hellsbane, Emma Jane was born for the job.
