Current possibility to circumvent browser PDF limitation on PW2

Hi guys,

I've searched the forums already but only found some old vague hints about that (namely a hack called "freedownload" that fiddles around with the browser to pass pdf URLs to curl).

What is the current state on downloading PDF files directly from the PW2?

If you have JB installed, then you could just use other web-browsers (without PDF problems or limitations):
Skipstone or Midori
