About kindle screen saying that need repair.
My kindle always crashed on the screen saver, needing to restart, I was upgrade to latest firmware and the device no longer starts, showing the screen that needs repair and must also call amazon support, how do I fix this?

You could give this a try: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=223067
Also -- are you jailbroken? If so, did you install USBNetwork and/or Rescue Pack? Because those would give you options. Otherwise, you probably just have to return it to Amazon, hopefully under warranty. |

If you had JB 1.14, then you still have it, you just need to copy
KUAL to the /documents/ directory, then as always on 5.6.x use MobileRead Package Installer to install everything you'll need installed. Some people like to install additionally Rescue Pack and Coward's Rescue Pack (after RP). P.S. If you have problems finding any package, it almost always can be found on Snapshots of NiLuJe's hacks or on a List of KUAL Extensions. Last edited by Dexmaster; 03-10-2015 at 07:31 AM. |

I did say if you had Rescue Pack and/or Cowards Rescue Pack extension, or USBNetwork, you had options. RP allows you to restore from diags safely.

As Dexmaster said, if your jailbreak was the latest 1.14, it will be fixed past a factory restore. See the changelog on the Jailbreak thread.

I see you have a problem with JB. Also if you had some jailbreak >1.10+ before updating to 5.6.0+ FW then maybe not everything is lost try this solution.
Also check if your KUAL is the latest one (v2.5) Last edited by Dexmaster; 03-17-2015 at 06:44 AM. |
