Alternative OS for Kobo Touch

"Within the developer program we just launched, we started to publish a special open our latest firmware version 4.2.0. This edition of firmware developer turns your e-reader in an open device for your free development. This firmware gives you full access to the Linux system that runs on the device and can modify system software and create new applications.

This firmware is compatible with the following models:

Cervantes Touch
Fnac Touch(Kobo Touch?)
Cervantes Touch Light
Fnac Touch Plus(Kobo Glo?)"

As far I know the Fnac's models are just the Cervates' bq models but with partnership of Fnac

The Kobo is a pretty open platform. Getting the proprietary stuff off is just an "rm" away. Truth be told, you should plan such an adventure carefully.
