Editor KB Shortcuts
If there any way to configure 'keystroke' shortcuts in the editor?
For example, I'd find it very handy if I could configure the editor so that Shift-Enter would 'type' in <br/> Defining and then using a Snippet requires more keystrokes than that. There are some defined (like Ctrl+1, etc.) There is one called "Insert Tag" with a shortcut of Ctrl+ but I can't figure out how to make it work for something like this. Thanks Last edited by phossler; 02-03-2015 at 11:05 PM. |

Could you explain what the 'Insert Tag' (Ctrl+) in Tools in Keyboard Shortcuts does please? All I get is the + sign |

At least in Windows, it appears that the '<' is not in the entry -- that's what was throwing me off

Yeah it is a bug in the rendering of shortcut keys, fixed in next release.

I also need <br/> as one of my shortcuts. You could have a look at the free PhraseExpress program (may be Windows only ???). I've been using this for a while so that I could have the same keyboard shortcuts in both the calibre editor and my standard text editor (otherwise I'd never be able to remember them).

I have used it before, and when I loaded PhraseExpress it did work for inserting the <br/> tag with a Shift-Enter. I might experiment with some other things that I find I type a lot. Snippets are still smarter though and a built in Calibre capability to assign text to keystroke combinations might be very useful as part of the existing Editor Keyboard Shortcuts I've already messed up in MS Word using Shift-Enter when I wanted to insert a NewLine and got <br/> Last edited by phossler; 02-04-2015 at 10:29 PM. |
