KT registration error...
Hi,
I just got a new Kindle Touch, but when I try to register it, I get an error that just says "Internal-error". Google doesn't seem to have heard of this error, has anyone seen it before? ![]() Thanks! |

Are you getting this error on the Kindle, or on the Amazon website?

Try registering it via your account on Amazon's website instead.

According to support, that means it's blacklisted. You'd think purchasing it through Amazon would mean you wouldn't get a blacklisted Kindle, but apparently that's too much to ask.

Did you buy it FROM Amazon or THROUGH Amazon? There's a difference. Was it a reseller on the Amazon website or is the seller Amazon itself. Anything's possible but I can't see them selling someone's old unit.

You bought a Kindle from Amazon, and it's blacklisted? You need to be speaking to Kindle Customer Service about this.

sorry to resurrect the thread but it is the same problem.
I reset my Kindle and now get the dreaded internal error. I contacted support but they say that since the device is past its warranty period they can not help. They tried to re-register from their end but failed. If I jailbreak my Kindle may I be able to connect to my account? |

This sound very unlike Amazon. Ring them again and push. What is the reason for the error? If the device is blacklisted then presumably they can remove it from the blacklist if they have good reason. Jailbreaking it will not let you connect to your Amazon account. If you want to do that you will have to resolve the problem with Amazon.

There could be something broken with my Kindle but since it works so well in most ways I suspect that amazon.co.jp is not geared up to cope with international customers who use the same email address, and switch between multiple international accounts. I switched to Amazon.com for a while then switched back to Amazon.co.jp when I realised that I could not purhase Japanese content from .com. The Kindle Paperwhite that I still have (my wife's) is also showing UK time! I had better not disconnected it from my account. I thought that perhaps the time zone is set by a location setting somewhere in my device, and that is cause my Kindle to attempt to connect with amazon.co.uk which is refusing my requests, and that if I jailbroke it then I might be able to change the device location/time setting. But, it has gone back to amazon. I will get the new version. |
