New H2O asking to format card
Hello there,
Just received a new H20 and updated it over wifi. On connecting it to a PC the device is recognised but internal volume is not - the computer wants to format it. My old Kobo worked fine with new volumes on connecting. Do I need to get a replacement? Thanks |

Try a factory reset; if that doesn't bring it back, than yes, it's busted. But the fact that it happened after a software upgrade (I assume it did work before?) points to a borked upgrade somehow. A factory reset will fix that.

There have been a few similar reports with the Aura H2O. As mbovenka said, if a factory reset doesn't fix it, it is faulty and you should exchange it.

Which OS are you using?
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=253990 It's hard to imagine a hardware fault as long as the device itself appears... also, formatting is entirely allowed. I formatted mine to ext2 although that only works with a firmware modification. |

It is faulty. Get it replaced.
It happened to me. If you keep it you will never be able to sideload books via the browser or your pc. For me a factory reset didn't work. I reported it to kobo and they told me to get the retailer to replace it. |
