Suggestion for Voyage sorting on home screen?
I just got my voyage and am in the process of moving my books from my old K3 and Calibre.
In Calibre I create a couple of books which I call: _My Book Catalog _My Unread Books I used the underscore character so that they were always listed first on the home screen when sorted by title. Apparently the Voyage ignores special characters because now the books are located with the books that start with "M". I noticed the same thing with collections. I used special characters to get them to sort the way I wanted. Now they ignore those and only use letters A-Z. So, has anyone come up with a decent scheme for naming books and/or collections so I can control the order in which they're displayed? I don't want to dig for my Calibre catalogs. And naming them "aaa-My Book Catalog" is pretty ugly. And I'd really like the collection which I used to call _Unread to always be at the top of my collections list. Thanks. |

Can you number them so they appear first?

Why not
1_My book catalog 2_My unread books As numbers will always appear before letters. |

You shoul use numbers with leading zeroes if you are going to have more than 9 collections, otherwise, it will sort like
1_collection 11_collection 12_collection 2_collection 3_collection Which is probably not what you want. |

Thanks. Numbers work. And yes, using leading zeros is important. It's rather annoying that we can no longer use special characters. I have real books whose title begins with a digit so numbering doesn't really guarantee my Calibre catalog books will end up at the top of the list. But it's better than nothing. I wonder why Amazon decided to change this feature?

Hi Deb-I upgraded from a K3 to a Voyage too. I'm sad because we can't control our collections from Calibre anymore. It's definitely more of a pain in the a for Collections on the Voyage/Cloud.
I use Calibre as my backup library for all books, not just from Amazon. Be really careful you don't sideload a book and download the same book from the Cloud. I have some sort of corruption on a book I accidentally did that with. And not all my sideloaded books are appearing in the All Item or Doc listing even though I checked and they are in the Voyage Documents folder (via plugging in the USB). Definitely taking a getting used to. |
