2 questions about search
I have two questions about the search function. It might be that this is already possible and that I just can't get it to work.
1. Is it possible to search in multiple libraries at the same time? As I have separated libraries, when I am looking for something I now have to do it for each library. 2. Related to that, can I create a Virtual library that contains books from more than one library? If this is currently not possible, which I think actually, is it possible to add this possibility? |

@Toxaris - if your libraries are in a common parent you could try using the OS or some other tool to search the OPF files in parent folder tree, eg on Windows you could try Agent Ransack.

You are never going to be able to search across multiple libraries. In calibre a library is loaded entirely into memory when it is opened. Doing that across multiple libraries is not a good idea, for obvious performance/mem usage reasons.
Separate libraries are really just that, separate. If you want libraries that only give the UI appearance of being separate, use Virtual Libraries. |

Thanks for the explanation Kovid. It is a shame (for me...), but quite understandable.
