Kobo Touch screen fading
Good morning. I still have a Kobo Touch. Recently, the screen of my N905C model started to fade and there are more "ghosts". It's like the screen is becoming all white. Changing the font settings is of little help.
I tried recharge the battey, and thanks to the kindness of people in this forum, I reinstalled the image. But the problem persists. Does anybody have any idea on what could be the problem? I phoned Kobo Service but since the warranty expired - I bought the device in January 2013 - they could not help. I guess it's a hardware problem. ![]() Thanks in advance ![]() Adriana N. da Silva |

That does sound like a hardware issue. Are you using it in really hot or cold conditions? That's the only other thing I could see causing the issue.

It could be the screen controller starting to fail.

Read my post at https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...09&postcount=8 and you can see how to make sure you are safe if this ever happens again. You won't need to use a microSD card.

My suggestion is to call Kobo and see what they have to say.

Short of very carefully opening the device and see if any wires or connections are loose (and barring any possible Kobo help), your device is likely done done for. You might be able to get a few bucks for it from someone looking for parts. Sorry.

At this point, the things I can think of are:
- Open it and check the screen cable is connected properly. - Do a factory reset - Talk to Kobo - Buy a new ereader Unfortunately, I think the last one is the real solution. |
