Yes, ANOTHER Intro!

Hello to all. My wife has a new Kindle and is really enjoying it. I had visions of sharing it with her but ... Looks like I'll have to save for one for me!

Hi cush and welcome to the Forum. Good luck getting your own Kindle. If your wife's like most members of this Forum, you're unlikely to ever see her Kindle again.

Greetings Kush & welcome to MobileRead. Yeah -- if there are multiple readers in the family, it can be difficult scheduling a single Kindle. My sister and I both have Kindles on a shared account at Amazon.com. We have similar likes and dislikes in our reading and have had a good time talking about the books that we are both reading.

Other than the books you buy from Amazon.com, you should be able to read books on your PC using the free MobiPocket Reader software. That means you can get books from here and FeedBooks and Manybooks and Fictionwise ...

Hang around and tell us what books you're reading and how the saving up for the second Kindle is going.

As Elsi said, if your lucky that your taste in books overlaps those of your wife then a shared kindle really is the way to go. Its a pity more sites don't have the ability to setup a group account with allowed sharing of ebooks.

Sounds like a revenue limiting idea.

True. But there must be a positive reason for Kindle/Amazon doing it?

Ricky: Nope-Tierrasanta. Just living in the wrong century, sort of.

Elsi: Don't have a PC. We're a Macintosh family (4 for the two of us!) and I don't usually read books at my computer.

tINmOUSE: Hi mate. Our tastes overlap but the problem is getting it out of her hands!

Yay for macintoshes!!

The story about "sharing books" is that, if you go out and buy a second Kindle, you can share the books that you have bought. No, you still won't be able to get the 1st Kindle out of her hands, but at least you can share the electronic books that you buy! This is less helpful if the two of you have widely diverging tastes.

Oh, hey .... Tierrasanta is East enough for me .... I was part of the downtown residents before moving to Texas ... so pretty much anything East of the 15 and 805 are "East County" to us.
