New Search Results Page is online!
Hi all,

We just launched our new search results list and grid page on kobobooks.com (and .de; .fr etc.) a few hours ago! Would love to get your feedback on it, what you like, don't like, suggestions to improve etc. Would also be great to get some non-North American feedback if possible.

Feel free to post here and I'll check in to see what you think!

I do have one suggestion. When sorting newest to oldest, I'd like an option to do away with pre-orders. It's annoying to have to wade through the pre-orders to get to the released eBooks.

The list view is nice, from having a look I like this

Not sure if this is just me, but performance of the store in IE is still a horiible experience when scrolling, its not smooth, it will scroll for about 5 lines worth, then pause, then scroll another 5 lines and pause, etc

When viewing the search results in the cover view option, can the covers be made smaller, I only see three books across the page now, previous version it was five

It looks and works much better, and the filter for language also works well, but needs a little work when using several criteria, and I’m in Europe.

When searching for Ken Follett, and applying the filter language (Portuguese) it also lists books from other authors. (see 1st photo)



Also looking for the author and then on a series from that author, the link opens a list of several books, that contains books that don’t belong in that series and some that are from other authors (see 2nd photo)

There are some books I see with starred ratings by the side of them - presumably from reviews but when you click on the individual book page it invites you to write the first review and no reviews are shown.

From the website the only way to rate a book seems to be to review it. But from the device you can rate the book without reviewing it, and the rating still shows up on the website.

GeoffR - you got it. We allow you to rate from the device for convenience (not everyone loves writing from tiny screens), but on the web it's best to get opinions as well to help others make informed decisions. Once we get more reviews on the site it'll become less of an issue. In a few months we'll all hardly notice

Thanks Ratty! I was wanting to read the reviews that are on the website. Probably because like you said they are just star ratings rather than a written review.

I totally agree. Add an option to hide books available for pre order.
