What can I do with my PRS-600 now?

I've been using ebook readers since I got my PRS-600 for Christmas shortly after they came out. (I wanted the original two Christmases before that, but money was tight.) I loved it. After a while, though, I got sucked into the Amazon ecosystem and ended up with a Kindle 3. I now have a Paperwhite that I like, but don't love.

I dug out my PRS-600 over the weekend and I really love the hardware (except for the really reflective touchscreen). The software, well, not so much, and I haven't gotten the hang of using calibre to embed the fonts I want.

I use calibre to convert ePub stuff to MOBI so I can send it to my Kindle anyway, so being able to read ePubs isn't really a killer feature for me. What am I missing about the 600 that would make it compelling to use today? Should I just retire it back to the box-o-junk and pull it out to reminisce every now and then?

Is anybody still using a 600 regularly having tried and liked Kindles? What do you think makes the PRS-600 great?

(I'm not meaning to crap on the 600--I genuinely did love it. I still think the hardware is really elegant, and feels much more well-made than Amazon's stuff ever has. I'm just trying to find a use for mine.)

My PRS-600 ended up getting donated to my local libary. That touchscreen made the thing practically unreadable. I went back to my 505 and later, the T1 (which I adored).

I've been wondering the same thing since getting my Asus Vivotab Note 8 --- I'm probably going to keep it and try to just rotate devices (I haven't yet gotten around to tailoring any shirts to have pockets which the AVTN8 fits in, but that's likely just a matter of time).

I had a 600 once upon a time, and I ended up sending it back to Sony for a $50 credit to a new PRS reader. I think this was 5 years ago and I bought a PRS-650 instead which I still use. I don't know if they still do that trade-in program but you could check their website maybe?

Yeah, it's a shame. I'd like it so much more if the screen weren't so reflective. It really ruins what otherwise seems like a really excellent device.

Not wanting to cook something up, but you may want to have a look at
PRS-Plus
Even that development stopped years ago, it is still a nice enhancement to all Sony-PRS-Readers pre the T-Series (500 and 700 not supported)
