iBooks New User: Can I access them on my Windows PC?
Hi all, I want to be able to store quotes I highlight on my iPod Touch running iBooks.
How can I access these quotes on my PC? I assume my quotes are easily accessible on my Mac, but what about my PC? Any help would be really appreciated!!! |

You can use the app Digested (http://drivenpixels.com/digested) to get your notes out of iBooks. Otherwise, I think the only way to play with your notes and highlights is the iBooks app and the platforms that Apple decides to make that app available on.

Evernote will index text that it finds, making the images searchable (but it does not OCR and extract the text). Additionally, you can get an OCR app for iOS ("LEADTOOLS OCR" or "Scanner with OCR" look good) and convert the screen capture (or a portion thereof) to text, and then share that to Evernote. These are of course general purpose tools that apply to things other than iBooks. |

Any note app would work. After all, you are just copying and pasting text. You could even past into the Apple notes app and see it on your pc via www.icloud.com
Evernote would work too, so would OneNote from Microsoft. You could past them into an email, or anything really. |

So that it's clear for me: I can read e-books in iBooks on my iPod Touch, copy quotes and then just paste it into the Apple Notes app and view the quotes on my Windows PC via iCloud? Would that be the best way for me to save quotes and then view them later on a Windows PC? |

So, if I were starting today, I'd go with OneNote unless you have Msft Derangement Syndrome. |

So since I'm just copying text from inside iBooks and pasteing it into a 'note-saving app' like Evernote it doesn't really matter which app I use? |

As I suggested above, if you use Digested for iBooks you can automate the ENTIRE process of pulling your notes (ALL OF THEM) out of iBooks and have them put into Evernote for you, all with a couple clicks of your mouse.
It is a good utility for the Mac: http://drivenpixels.com/digested Once you export them using your Mac you will have them in Evernote and can then view them on anything that Evernote runs on including Windows, Macs, iPads, Windows Phone, Android, Fire tablets, etc., etc.. |
