Unhappy Solved - library error

I'm hoping someone can either tell me or show me where I'm going wrong.

I've created a virtual library called 'Horror' its search expression is # horror

As you can see there are only 61 books tagged # horror so there should only be 61 books in the virtual library called Horror.

However when I open the Horror library what I see are 128 books.

Before I add anything to the libraries I remove all tags and then add my own so I know the extra 67 books aren't tagged # horror so I have no idea why they are appearing.

Any ideas where I've gone wrong?

Your tags start with a hashmark?
Custom Columns names start with a Hashmark, but there is no requirement for that naming in any other place (and it might cause issues) except when USING those columns (lookup name)

All my tags start with a hash tag as its just a quick and easy way to check that I've tagged a book.

I'll try changing the tag and the search expression and see it it makes a difference and let you know.

Okay, I've just checked and renamed the virtual libraries and their search expressions so that neither library has any special symbols or numbers etc and it still happened.

This is going to sound like a stupid question but I know the books that shouldn't be in the library are tagged correctly as I've just double and triple checked them but is there anyway what's written in the comments section of the books could be causing it.

for example:

Search expression : horror
All books tagged horror show up

But if one of the books not tagged as horror has the comment ' this book is a horror ride from start to finish'. Because it has the word horror in the comment would it be added in or is it just the tags that the library sees?

The search expression
Code:
horror
will search for all instances of the word "horror" across metadata types.

You want to use
Code:
tags:"=horror"
Which will search for a tag which is equal to "horror". (Skip the equals sign to find tags which contain "horror".)

You can also click on stuff in the tags editor (left pane) to search for them, and it will fill in the search field, which can give you an idea how searches should look.

Maybe you should make the search for the VL more specific
Code:
tags:"Horror"

You can also limit which fields are looked at when doing a generic search: horror

Preferences:Searching: Columns that non-prefixed searches are limited to:
