RegexCase Changing
There are a number of times where a scanned book (out of copyright of course) has the first character of a sentence in lower case. I would like to change these to upper.
I understand that \U and \L are not supported in the Regex engine used in the Calibre editor. Is there any other way to change case in a Regex replace statement in the Calibre editor? |

Yes, using the just-created function mode.
![]() A little overkill, in simple cases like this, but the regex engine calibre uses doesn't support those switches. http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/function_mode.html There are builtin functios for titlecasing, capitalizing, uppercasing and lowercasing. That should work here, although arbitrary case-changing would require a function. Last edited by eschwartz; 12-03-2014 at 01:53 AM. |

![]() Thank you. I hadn't gone there yet - scared - but it proved to be very simple |
