change id-field of several books at once

We can change several fields of a selection of books in 1 action (select books, press E and chenge).
But that's not the case for the id-field.
Can this be added?
Or is there another way of doing this?

I assume you mean the integer book number. If so, then the answers are No and No. It is used internally by calibre and the database software and cannot be maintained by the user.

Move them to a new Library using 'copy to Library'.

But who cares what the library id is (except the Current Library

). {ID} is solely for Calibre's (internal) bookkeeping

you were asking about IDENTIFIERS,

You be able to clear them by type using the search and replace tab of bulk metadata edit
